What's New: Pre-released v0.1

Welcome to the first pre-release of Checker Chess! This unique two-player board game blends the strategic depth of chess with the dynamic movement of checkers. In this version, you'll get to experience the core mechanics of the game, pitting a full set of checkers pieces against a full set of chess pieces.

Key Features ✨

1. Asymmetrical Gameplay: Play as either the checkers or chess player, each with a unique objective and set of rules. The checkers player wins by capturing all chess pieces, while the chess player must survive until all checkers are eliminated.
2. Modified Piece Movement: Checkers pieces can move and capture diagonally, while promoted checkers (kings) can move in all eight cardinal directions. The four checkers on the back row begin the game as promoted pieces, giving the checkers player a powerful starting advantage.
3. The "Void Zone": A special zone on the board that only checkers pieces can enter, adding a new layer of strategy and defense.

This pre-release is a foundational version. We're excited for you to try it out and help us refine the game as we work toward a full release.
